Embedded Software Engineer - safety-critical - North West

Due to company growth, this leading name engineering company are looking for an experienced embedded software engineer to join their high-reliability/safety-critical software development teams. The successful candidate will have a good background in embedded software, and experience of a high-integrity/safety-critical software development area such as defence, aerospace, rail, medical, automotive, etc.
You'll work within this well-established company, which offers the atmosphere of being a 100-200 person business, with the security of being backed by a well-known multinational engineering company. This means you'll have a chance to work directly with management, and your welfare and career progression is vitally important to the company. You'll be working on a variety of cutting edge embedded software projects, incorporating high-reliability software standards, graphical and communications technologies.
As a small element of the projects, some PC-based knowledge is required. The company would ideally like the two applicant to have some additional knowledge in this field - however, don't worry if you don't!!!
Required:
- Embedded C
- Experience of real-time systems/RTOS
- Experience of safety-critical standards (e.g. DO-178B, Def-Stans, MISRA, SIL, etc.)
- Experience within a high-reliability industry such as automotive, aerospace, defence, rail, etc.
- Good communications skills, able to act as a representative of the company when dealing with clients
Desirable:
- Experience of PC-based C or C++ software development with Visual Studio
