We are looking for a resourceful individual with experience in BOM, Part Configuration, and component selection.

The successful candidate will be supporting a very busy Engineering Design Team in identifying and specifying new parts or advising suitable approved parts which are already available in existing parts masters.

. Electronics background preferably consumer goods.
. HNC or above, with good experience of high volume manufacture.
. Ability to identify components on a schematic, and choose acceptable alternatives from a company recognised datbase
. Understanding of an MRP system.
. Understanding of mechanical components - screws nuts, washers, glands grommets etc
. Ability to read mechanical drawings, and operating Autocad or Solidworks would be a bonus
. Ability to create BOM's on the company SAP system, but training would be given
. Ability to raise ECN's and manage ECN workflows
. Ability to control release of documents to multiple manufacturing sites


. Knowledge in Design, Engineering, or Procurement/Planning within an Electronic or Electro-Mechanical environment would be beneficial.
. Design engineer, components engineer, repair or prototype technician or electro-mechanical designer may have the practical experience to quickly pick up the neccessary skills to carry out this role.

Contract is for 6 months initially with very strong potential for extension or a permanent role.
