Electrical and Control Applications Engineer with experience of electrical design of control systems for marine and industrial environments required to join a leading employer specialising in providing high integrity design, project management and engineering solutions for Defence and Nuclear customers’ world wide. Dedicated to providing world class engineering systems providing technical solutions and specialised M&E equipment, the successful candidate will be joining the engineering department who take responsibility for all design, development and applications engineering providing technical support from installation and commissioning through to final decommissioning.

You will be working on long term defence contracts, producing state of the art plant control and IT systems for test rig and materials handling applications. The primary duties for this position will consist of:

Detailed design and specification of electrical and control systems
Development of PLC software for plant control
Development of Variable Speed Drive control systems
Liaison with CAD designers
Interfacing of all control systems
Testing and commissioning at the customers sites

A background covering PLC Software Design within safety critical environments is essential as is a motor design or design of electro-magnetic systems background . You must also have a good knowledge of:

Electrical engineering for medium and low voltage power distribution systems, motor starter panels and PLC systems
On site electrical installation, cabling and safety
PWM Variable Seed Drive technology
HMI and or SCADA applications for plant control
Networking and communications principles
