| Description |
Our client a nuclear MoD establishment in Reading, Berkshire are looking to recruit an SC Cleared Mechanical Package Lead / Assistant Engineering Manager on a contract basis paying on an hourly basis circa £45-50.00.
Job/Role Purpose
Accountable to the PP&E Engineering Manager for managing the technical aspects of supply chain contracts for mechanical PP&E from requirements capture through to site acceptance testing for modified proprietary equipment or equipment designed to requirement.
Key Accountabilities
· Ensure the preparation and delivery of design solutions which fully comply with all applicable current legislation, British Standards, and Client Design Standards to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
· Ensure adequate monitoring of engineering configuration changes within the appointed discipline on behalf of the design authority.
· Ensure Review, Learn & Improve (RLI) of Quality of Engineering in discipline and compliance with the Project Book and Project Processes.
· Ensure compliance, in all activities undertaken, with Company Safety, Quality, Environmental, Security and Health (SQESH) requirements.
· Ensure contribution to integrated safety when reviewing or producing engineering designs.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure that the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards are understood and applied.
Qualifications
· A degree or equivalent in control engineering or similar relevant discipline.
· Demonstrable design experience.
Knowledge
· Mechanical package management relevant to proprietary and modified proprietary equipment or equipment designed to requirement.
· Preparation of technical specifications and ITTs, tender evaluation, TQ management and design review processes.
· Basic project controls including schedule and cost reporting.
· Concept of Safety Case, HAZOP, risk assessment and reduction.
· Relevant legislation such as Machinery Directive, PUWER, CE marking and DSEAR
Experience
· A proven track record as a package lead.
· Familiar with basic project controls including schedule and cost reporting.
· Providing Safety Case support through design, including HAZOP, risk assessment and reduction.
· Relevant legislation such as Machinery Directive, PUWER, CE marking and DSEAR
