We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with an innovative mechanical background in heavy engineering to work for a company that designs, builds and supplies engineering solutions for the offshore oil and gas, submarine telecom, defence and renewables industries.
All candidates should have a passion for engineering excellence and significant experience of providing guidance and direction across one or more projects in order to provide support to the company's Lead Engineers and Project Managers.

The Mechanical Design manager should have proven technical strength, be able to provide rigorous questioning of evolving engineering solutions and have natural abilities in communication across all levels of relationships.

Management responsibility will be given to you for a group of engineers and draughtspeople and you will be expected to foster and develop the skills and abilities of your charges.
The role will cover a broad scope and span the full project life starting with active participation at the start of the solution, through to setting technical waypoints and onto guiding the project teams towards and past them. You will be expected to provide significant input to the development and maintenance of the very best engineering practice and technical authority. All of which will happen within a framework of supportive engineering management and technical direction.

The company's core products include subsea trenching systems, pipe and cable lay equipment and specialist offshore handling systems.
