SolidPeople are now actively searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to join our clients business - an engineering company at the forefront of innovation and technology. Our client is a small yet rapidly growing engineering outfit specialising in the design and development of unique special purpose machinery. Their continued success in the market place means a position has now arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Manager.

The successful candidate would ideally be experienced in the design and manufacture of Special Purpose Machinery. Candidates with experience designing machinery such as Compressors, High Speed Machines, heat exchangers and generators are welcome to apply.

This is a senior role so all applicants must come from a relevant field of engineering and must be able to use their own initiative to successfully complete projects to tight deadlines. If successful in this role there will be scope to progress to an upper management level.


Person Specification

The ideal candidate would be someone with a genuine passion for engineering. You should be able to take a problem and use your skills as an engineer to work logically to find a solution. You should be a team player who is happy to impart knowledge to those looking to develop and learn. Although support will be available if needed, you will be expected to hit the ground running with minimal supervision, so only those with true confidence in their engineering skills should apply.


Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years experience designing Special Purpose Machinery
• At least 3 years 3D CAD experience using SolidWorks. Those with Pro-Engineer, SolidEdge, CATIA, NX and Inventor skills will also be considered.
• Ideally you will have Finite Element analysis (FEA) experience using SolidWorks Simulation (CosmosWorks) or ANSYS.
• BEng in Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)
• Project Management experience would be a real advantage
