Summary of Position
Assist in delivery of consistent field / site technical standards as outlined in operational procedures and Company policy. Thus enabling retention & potential growth of existing support business
Accountabilities
To develop towards satisfactory provision of efficient and effective technical solution service for both internal and external clients thus maximising customer satisfaction levels.
To work closely with key personnel (eg, Regional Service Management, S3s, Project Managers and the Contact Centre) thus delivering specified technical standards, paperwork submission and operational procedures thereby maximising productivity.
To maintain an up-to-date /easily referenced technical documentation process to ensure compliance with H&S requirements and effect, the repair to the customers expectation.
To assist in the equipment preparation for installation / hardware & software upgrades, thus ensuring functional equipment is installed within project timeframes
To plan, assist in the preventative maintenance process, thereby reducing defect levels between PMs to ensure high productivity levels.
To maintain an accurate stock record / level to ensure appropriate stock is held thereby minimising stock errors and reducing P&L fluctuations.
Scope of Responsibility:
Support function to regional service management.
Participation within a team of 8-10 engineers.
As a team, responsibility to achieve £2.5M tactical and contracted revenue.
Direct point of contact for both internal and external customers.
Business Knowledge/Educational Background
Essential
Capable of demonstrating ability to operate within an electro mechanical software driven environment.
Ability to communicate accurately and clearly in English on technical subjects and with customers and team leaders.
Ability to take a logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
Demonstrate a positive approach to everyday working providing a high level of flexibility / adaptability.
Must hold a current UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.
Desirable
Technical / Mechanical qualification
Proficient with MS word, MS Excel,
Proficient with email and internet usage.
Key Challenges
The DMT engineer is responsible for a total service to Pitney Bowes customers. This is likely to encompass a mixture of shift working, 24/7, and unsociable hours, often at very short notice.
Development to a fully operational PBE2 / PBE3 within 2 to 3 years.
