TEST AND DOCUMENTATION ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced Test and Documentation Engineer to join a small and friendly Technology Department based near Cardiff in South Wales. This company is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of precision, innovative downhole electromechanical data acquisition instrumentation for the worldwide oil and gas industry. Their products are used to measure of flow, pressure, temperature and other parameters within the well bore.
The Test and Documentation Engineer will be required to organise the testing and transfer of product from development to production ensuring that all the necessary assembly and test instructions and documentation are prepared and proven. You will also independently test the product to ensure that the design goals are met also ensuring a smooth handover from Engineering to production and providing ongoing support to production
As Test and Documentation Engineer your specific duties will include preparing test specifications, conducting product testing, preparing Assembly and Test Documentation and assisting the Assembly and Test team with product issues and actioning solutions. You will also be involved in the proposal of test schedules and plans for new products, production support for in-house manufacturing and production groups, analysis of field failures and propose remedial action and compilation and updating of product operations and maintenance manuals.
Qualified to at least HNC/HND level, you should have some experience in a similar role and proven understanding of testing Electro-mechanical assemblies, appreciation of Mechanical end Electronic design and good problem solving/concept design skills.
You should have experience of mechanical trouble-shooting and investigation, practical mechanical aptitude and sympathy and experience of electronic troubleshooting and Investigation. Excellent written English and verbal communication skills are also required.
Knowledge is also required of test procedures, test equipment operation and standards and regulations.
You will need the ability to work with minimum supervision, to ‘think’, identify issues and offer solutions and to work to challenging deadlines in a fast changing, high pressure environment. Consistent, enthusiastic and self-motivated you will work well both independently and as part of a small team.
