Lead Mechanical Engineer to £35k

Lead Mechanical Engineer now required to lead a small team of engineers engaged in the design, test and installation of high integrity mechanical plant and systems for the nuclear industry. This respected employer provides complete solutions for the handling of hazardous materials and has recently secured prestigious new projects within the decommissioning and power generation sectors.
The successful Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for effective liaison with customers and EC&I department to fully develop unique solutions, mainly within the nuclear decommissioning field. Previous experience of concept design & design approval is essential as is experience of leading and motivating small teams.
Key responsibilities for this role will entail:
· Determining overall requirements in terms of cost, time, resource and technical content of mechanical design solutions
· Assist in the development of Junior Mechanical Design staff as appropriate
· Participate in technical discussions with internal & external customers and suppliers
· Keep abreast of latest technology and identify technological development/resources appropriate to the business needs/engineering activities
· Writing comprehensive reports and proposals
An overview of 2D/3D CAD systems is essential for this position.
Applicants responding to this position either need to be a UK national or have lived in the UK for a minimum of five years in order to obtain the required level of security clearance. Nuclear industry experience is highly advantageous, but not essential.
You can expect a Basic Salary of up to £35k with excellent benefits including Pension & Healthcare, and is commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Birmingham, Telford, Stafford and Dudley.
