An excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager has become available as one of the UK’s largest suppliers of engineering services to the nuclear sector continues to expand.
The Senior Project Manager will join an established team based in the North West who are working on some of the sectors most interesting and challenging projects for Power Generation, De-Commissioning and New Build. The majority of projects are based within the UK & Europe but there are also projects further afield including Russia, the US, Japan and even Australia.
The key purpose of this role will be to effectively manage a portfolio of projects to ensure they are delivered safely & profitably, identifying and developing business opportunities within their client areas as well as ensure accurate and timely reporting of key project data across the project portfolio.
The successful Engineer will have sound theoretical and practical knowledge with the ability to develop sound solutions without guidance and apply current technologies to new applications. My client is also seeking candidates who:
· Can select cost effective and timely solutions when assessing current technologies
· Is an expert in a specialised area or can manage a multi-disciplined team through all project phases
· Has experience to assess implications & mitigate risks when analysing complex problems
· Can identify opportunities to grow the scope of involvement
· Can create a climate which encourages continuous improvement in financial performance
· Can establish structures and procedures for major projects
· Act as a mentor to develop staff & encourage self-development
· Have the ability to handle difficult situations confidently
· Have the ability to negotiate assertively handling all objections competently
Ideally degree qualified with chartered membership of an appropriate institution you must also possess solid background of managing multi-disciplined projects.
An excellent benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate including a Basic Salary of up to £60k and is commutable from Manchester, Stockport, Oldham, Sale, St Helens, Altrincham, Bolton, Wigan, Rochdale, Blackburn and Preston.
