Production Engineering Manager - experience of high volume manufacture - familiar with PLC controlled equipment and pneumatic logic - based Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham - salary £30 - 35K

We are looking for a Production Engineering Manager to take responsibility for two production engineering technicians and head up a new cell whose focus will be on optimising production output efficiency i.e. 'upping the output' for a company who is a British manufacturer renowned in their field and are currently in a position where they can't manufacture quickly enough to satisfy demand!

Reporting to the Engineering and Safety Manager, the Production Manager will need to have had experience of a high volume, high quality manufacturing environment in order to improve their manufacturing efficiency and removing bottle-necks from their process.

They believe that at present they are only manufacturing at 70% of total capacity - so there is plenty of room for improvement.

Ideally you will be degree educated and have a successful track record of manufacturing improvements in other high volume environments (such as, but not necessarily, automotive 1st tier). You will have previous management/supervisory experience, be familiar with PLC controlled equipment and pneumatic logic and have a good balance of skills and diagnostic ability

Liaising closely with production management the engineering manager will be involved with manufacturing efficiency improvements and improvements in machinery / process utilisation

Candidates should be competent and have previous experience of implementing -
* Capacity improvements
* Quality improvements
* Poke Yoke implementation

Project management will be required on occasions and, longer term there are good progression opportunities
