A new opportunity has arisen within our clients Engineering Department for a Mechanical Engineering Section Head, who will be part of a team operating and maintaining an oil fired generating plant and it’s associated equipment.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful Section Head is responsible for the management and development of the Mechanical Engineering section to deliver the plants long-term commercial and technical objectives whilst also contributing to short terms objectives by providing Mechanical expertise to maintenance and operations.

Key Duties of Role:
• As the Mechanical Engineering Section Head you will be the accountable authority for all mechanical engineering issues.
• Responsible for setting policy for plant overhaul and developing maintenance strategy.
• Development of contract and procurement strategy.
• Contribute to plant modification process.
• Upkeep of the sections document management system.

The successful Mechanical Engineering Section Head will provide support to the maintenance and production departments.

To be considered for this role you will:
• Hold experience and qualifications in a relevant discipline
• Hold extensive knowledge power plant O&M delivery in particular experience in steam turbine engineering
• Hold detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering standards
