Engineering Analyst – Heavy Engineering Manufacturing Site – Fife – attractive, base bonuses, and benefits

Reporting to the Analysis Manager, the Engineering Analyst carries out all aspects of various analyses and calculations activities in Proposal Engineering to support Sales and proposals, Project Engineering to support Client projects and Development Engineering to support the development of new analysis tools. The Engineering Analyst will be typically working on Dynamic Analysis, FEA of hardware or reels, Installation Analysis or FEA of umbilicals.

PERSON SPEC – higher weighting more important:-

•10 – Extensive experience working in Engineering, in an Analyst type role
•10 – Experience of working in the oil & gas sector and comfortable working with clients and products in this sector – ideally experience of pipeline, flow line or umbilical termination and design
•10 – Computer literate - proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages
•10 – Good experience of FEA Software – using packages such as Ansys, Cosmos works, MSC Marc, Abaqus
•10 – Good experience of Dynamic Analysis software – using packages such as Orcaflex, Flexcom, Deeplines
•9 – Qualifications – Bachelors degree ideally in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
•9 – Excellent communicator – up, down, and peers – verbal, written, listener, influencer, and good formal presenter
•9 – Experience and understanding of Finite Element Analysis and Dynamic Analysis theory
•8 – Familiar with the concepts of vessel motions and behaviour and sea state hydrodynamics
•8 – Familiar with materials science along with a good mechanical/mathematical background
•8 – Ideally a strong process and/or manufacturing engineering background
•7 – Travel overseas and domestically as and when required
