JOB TITLE: Nuclear Waste Systems Engineer
LOCATION: Thatcham, Berkshire
SALARY: Dependent on experience
DURATION: Permanent

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
Leading nuclear company requires a Nuclear Waste Systems Engineer to work on leading engineering design work for radiological, chemical, and process engineering projects, including nuclear waste treatment and decommissioning projects. You will be capable of liaising credibly with customers and senior management, managing and undertaking design work, with the ability to deliver engineering designs to time cost, and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will have overall responsibility for consultancy and the development of technical options and design development for specialist nuclear waste applications and chemical & related process solutions, including radioactive waste management, identification and measurement of waste, segregation of waste, waste analysis, converting operational waste outputs into storable and packaged waste.

You will develop decommissioning waste & waste stream strategies, radionuclide chemistry, sampling & analysis, and waste-stream characterisation, waste movement and transportation.

You will produce flow sheets and process flow diagrams and support calculations.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You will have a degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) and between 8 to 10 years hands on process design experience, and relevant management and commercial experience in nuclear industry, or similar potentially high hazard environment.
