STORES PERSON - ENGINEERING - ROTHERHAM - DAYS
To ensure the efficient running of the engineering stores including maintenance of required stock levels, ordering of materials to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements at minimum cost and to the required safety standards.
MAIN DUTIES:
A – Issues from Store etc
1.Issue materials from stores ensuring that ‘booking-out’ sheets are correctly completed for subsequent entry into computer system.
2.Live data input where practicable / desirable
3.Input data from ‘booking-out’ sheets.
4.Ensure that all goods received are correctly logged into paper or computer system as appropriate and placed in correct storage locations
5.Maintain code numbering system in an efficient condition.
6.Maintain store areas and racking in a safe, tidy and efficient condition.
7.Stocktaking - carry out perpetual inventory routines as required.
8.Obtain competitive quotes for potential purchases as required.
9.Correctly locate incoming spares and materials, and returns to stores, to ensure stock accuracy.
10.Place orders with suppliers, using post, telephone or electronically in a timely manner.
11.Follow-up orders to ensure ‘on time’ delivery and inform the order originator when goods are received.
12.Inspect incoming materials where possible or sign receipts as ‘un-inspected.’
13.Arrange despatch and return of items sent for repair.
14.Observe stores security procedures to reduce the possibility of pilferage.
Co-operate with the Engineering Manager and his deputy; Team Leaders and tradesmen to ensure service to the plant.
19.Prepared to work ‘reasonable overtime’ as dictated by the needs of the business.
20.To represent the department at appropriate meetings.
21.Endeavour to ensure internal customer requirements are achieved first time, on time, every time.
22.Produce relevant information and comment on variations
23.Observe all factory safety and hygiene rules and procedure
24.Any other duty within the limits of training and academic / physical ability.
25.Liaise with other departments to maximise production efficiencies through effective stock control.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standards, experience of working in a stores environment, computer literate (some experience of ERP systems desirable), FLT Licence.
OTHER DETAILS:
Stores to be covered from 7am to 7pm via an 8.30 hour, weekly shift rota (7am – 3.30pm and 10.30am to 7pm, half hour lunch is unpaid).
Starting salary dependent on experience.
