Senior Design Engineer – must have Hydraulic design experience - AutoCAD 3D and Inventor - mechanical engineering design background -based Coventry - salary £30 – 32K

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to design hydraulic power units, manifold assemblies, special purpose test rigs and installations for a hydraulic systems division.

Candidates will need to have AutoCAD 3D and inventor skills and a good basic mechanical engineering design background which includes education to HND or Degree in an Engineering subject.

Reporting to the Hydraulic Systems Division Manager, the successful candidate will carry out stress and strength calculations for equipment designed by the division, produce product manuals and lead the detail design of individual projects and work as a member of the systems design team on a wide range of hydraulic equipment.

Day to day duties will include:

• Taking a Parts list and Hydraulic circuit produced by the team and producing a detailed hydraulic circuit
• Designing the general arrangement drawing of equipment and preparing detail manufacturing drawing of Fabrications, manifold blocks etc.
• Carrying out strength calculations on fabricated structures
• Detailing and updating product parts list
• Liaising with the shop floor during assembly build
• Checking and administering product test procedures.
• Producing final “as built “drawing packs.
• Producing technical files for CE marking purposes.
• Producing product manuals.
• Checking drawings produced by other members of the design team

The Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer will therefore need to have good written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working in a busy environment.

You should be self-motivated, with good interpersonal skills and able to form relationships with other members of the systems design team, sales team, the systems manufacturing team, customers and suppliers.
