This position has become available within a National Building Service organisation, who offer planned and reactive maintenance to a wide range of HVAC plant and associated electrical systems.
Purpose Of The Job
• Responsible for overseeing all technical matters relating to the effective Plant and Equipment Maintenance on site
• Liaison with Contract Manager and Client to ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with site policies and procedures and within health and safety legislative requirements
Key Responsibilities
1 Management and control of all technical matters relating to plant and equipment maintenance including existing equipment, new works and future upgrade works
2 Identify potential technical improvements for existing plant and equipment maintenance to facilitate improved reliability and /or cost reduction with fully supported documentation
3 Liaise with site and client management to ensure proper completed hand over of additional projects.
4 Ongoing development and review of site policies and procedures relating to the maintenance of installed plant and equipment.
5 Identify and develop training plans specific to installed equipment to facilitate training of site engineers and for staff development.
6 Ensure all matters relating to Health and Safety legislative requirements are fully documented and understood by all site staff and subcontractors involved in the maintenance of plant and equipment.
7 Assist in the development of and adherence to method statements, ensuring best working practices are established and maintained.
8 Work with sub contractors involved in plant and equipment maintenance to ensure highest possible standards of maintenance are achieved.
9 Liaise with site and client management during any emergency operations or procedures
10 Assist client with resolution of technical matters arising from installed equipment or maintenance of this equipment
11 Working with other managers to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective teamworking, and support to colleagues.
12 Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
13 Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.
14 Promoting and maintaining the core Values of The Client.
15 Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition/reward.
16 Manage new projects as they arise.
17 Attend meetings as required to facilitate the smooth running of the business
18 Be prepared to carry out AP duties when suitably qualified to do so.
19 Any other reasonable task as dictated by the Management and Directors of The Client.
The successful candidate, will have a minimum of 5 years experience of hands-on HVAC maintenance, qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds level in Electrical and Mechanical HVAC engineering, as well as at least two years management experience.
