QUALITY ENGINEER - ROTATING EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER - CONGLETON - £NEG - MUST LOOK!!!!!!!!
Our client are an international rotating equipment manufacturer, they have been established for over 40 years and employ over 45 people at their prestigious manufacturing facility in Cheshire. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Quality team.
Job Purpose
The Quality Engineers role is to work with the Quality Manager in developing our clients quality strategy to ensure that the concept of accountability for quality is embedded within all areas of the Company and Supply Chain leading to overall improved levels of customer satisfaction.
The Quality Engineer must be conversant with the concept of lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, and work with appropriate quality tools to manage supplier and Company performance, including six sigma techniques and root cause analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful Quality Engineer will work with the manufacturing and stores teams to ensure that -
• Goods coming into and leaving the company are inspected to ensure the highest possible quality at all times.
• Work in progress and first-offs are inspected at suitable points in manufacture.
• Final inspection of finished machine components, pumps and packages takes place.
• To manage the calibration checks of measuring equipment (works and personal) and ensure calibration records are kept up to date.
• Collate, as required, any defect reports for faulty components, and initiate preventive action.
• Work with other departments to ensure that the root cause of problems is identified, using appropriate tools and ensure any approved preventative action is implemented.
• To undertake internal quality audits on a regular basis in line with the audit schedule, identifying opportunities for improvement of Company processes.
• To produce statistical data and reports as necessary to support business decisions and operations.
• To assist the Quality Manager and Site Manager with the investigation and timely action on customer issues.
• To work closely alongside the purchasing team and ensure that the results of non-conformances and the necessary preventive action are communicated to suppliers, utilising appropriate analytical techniques, to ensure continuous improvement.
• Assisting when necessary with the preparation and supply of quality documentation.
• The successful Quality Engineer will be expected to deputise for the Quality Manager.
• To manage the process of witnessed performance tests on our clients premises with visiting inspectors/customers ensuring exemplary levels of customer satisfaction through thorough preparation and understanding of customer needs.
