Our Clients Geosciences Dept is part of a large Marine Science Group of Companies and is a successful and innovative geotechnical marine survey contractor operating on a worldwide basis. Due to continuing expansion we are now looking to recruit an Operations Director.

Job Description
The successful candidate for this new and exciting role will be required to help shape the business vision and develop strategies for achieving that vision. Whilst reporting to the Managing Director the Operations Director will create operational plans that support the direction of the company whilst always striving to develop future capability of all employees within the business.
You will be responsible for enforcing health and safety and ensuring implementation all business activities creating and maintaining procedures for implementing plans that have been agreed by the Board.
Working with clients will be an important aspect of this role therefore it will be expected of you to maintain client relationships by ensuring continuous improvement plans are in place to exceed client expectations and you will proactively seek to develop new clients and areas of business in line with the company strategy.
Financial management will also be required within the role and as Operations Director you will be required to provide timely, accurate and relevant operational financial information to the Board.
Overall you will be contributing to the effectiveness of the business through positive support and working closely with colleagues throughout the Group.
The ideal candidate would have previously held a senior management position and have a geotechnical background with experience in business and financial management. You will also have proven skills and/or a qualification in business and performance management with the ability to effectively problem solve to achieve exceptional results.
You must be a strong and open communicator with the ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships with all stakeholders and have the skill to identify issues as they arise and be able to contribute to solutions in order to achieve results.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and be residentially suited to East Anglia with relocation being considered for an exceptional candidate.
Extensive UK and overseas travel will be required.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Our Client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager for its Geosurvey/Marine Science Sectors which are part of a Group of Companies and is a successful marine survey contractor operating a fleet of dedicated geophysical survey vessels, conducting major integrated offshore projects on a worldwide basis.

Job Description
The successful candidate for this pivotal and exciting role would be required to ensure the operational success of all our Clients Geosurvey projects by coordinating and overseeing the contractual and logistics aspects of each project and allocating suitably trained personnel accordingly.
You will oversee all Operational aspects of the company business plan and strategy in conjunction with department managers for presentation to the Managing Director and external clients. You will source suitable personnel and equipment from external suppliers and maintain control of costs and quality standards. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to provide clear guidance and direction to your own staff and all field staff to ensure that all company objectives and targets are exceeded.
You will also support the Departmental Managers in the delivery of effective employee communications whilst contributing to the effectiveness of the service through positive support and joint working with colleagues throughout the group.
Ideally you will have proven experience of working within an operational role preferably at senior level, within a related industry. You will have experience of effectively and professionally dealing with a wide range of clients and suppliers and have the ability to build on and maintain these relationships. You will display strong management skills together with the ability to motivate staff to achieve results. You will also have a proven track record of logistical management success
