Reporting Service Field Operation Leader

Role: The Service Technician is responsible for retrofit and repair of air conditioning equipment and Systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.

This position requires an extensive knowledge of the HVAC Service Industry.

Representative Activities: Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Uses a variety of hand tools, engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units. Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer?s location.
Performs preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.

Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.

Inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition and literature supplies. Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service.
Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.

Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files. Represents Company by serving as a direct customer contact. Trainee supports by providing technical advice and offering guidance.

Documents all service related activities. Provides re-training and follow-up training at customer site. Provides sales leads.
Works independently.

Working Conditions: The HVAC Field Technician must be prepared to work under time pressure, with evening and occasional weekend work necessary. This position requires work in both field (90%) and office (10%) environments.

Job Specifications: Candidates for the HVAC Field Technician position should demonstrate mastery of the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and temperament.

Knowledge of HVAC Principles/Equipment: Must be familiar with Trane and various other air conditioning products and have field experience in installation techniques and servicing/repairing HVAC equipment.

Customer Service Skills: Must have excellent customer interaction skills and have the ability to answer questions and resolve customer concerns.

Computer/Software Skills: Must have the ability to use a computer and software(e.g., MS/ Office, Excel, and MS Windows).

HVAC Technical Skills: Must have demonstrated mechanical and electrical ability.

Strong Analytical Skills: Must have the ability to dissect and manipulate data and situations to arrive at the best possible solution.

Listening Skills: Must have the ability to hear (attend to) and interpret communication.

Oral Communication Skills: Must be able to speak clearly, use correct grammar, and project enthusiasm through voice inflection and intonation.

Written Communication Skills: Must be able to write clear, concise reports

Problem-solving Skills: Must have the ability to resolve situations or matters as they arise.

Interpersonal Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate clearly with a variety of people and personality styles.

Minimum Qualifications:

(1) City and Guilds level 2 and 3 certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
