Production Engineer / Value Engineering / Estimator– Mechanical Engineering / Electromagnets.
Primary functions – Estimator / Cost Engineer.
Organising the estimating activities of the company based on available resource and deadlines.
Liaison with customers and suppliers.
Digestion and understanding technical specifications.
Determination of methods of manufacture.
Production of parts lists and bills of materials.
Obtaining quotations for materials and services.
Production of costed parts lists and bills of materials, building into detailed estimates in a timely manner.
Evaluation and costing of tooling requirements.
Production of draft contract schedules using MS project.
Preparing professional tender information packs.
Taking minutes at Estimating meetings.
Coordinating the circulation and review of sales contracts and agreements.
Collecting, reviewing and publishing companies historical manufacturing and cost data.
Presenting and circulating pertinent summary information on bids, tenders and orders in process.
Providing accurate estimate data to the Accounts Dept and Project Managers.
Supporting the companies Business Development activities by -
Providing targeted summary information on key business activities and processes.
Communicating with other parts of the companies Group and coordinating effort.
Assisting with the preparation of sales literature, presentations and maintaining the companies Company Profile.
Reviewing external sub-contract operations and new process developments.

Supplementary functions: - Purchasing. Technical authoring. Project management.

Requirements – Estimator / Cost Engineer.
• Self motivated and able to work alone and in a team.
• Good engineering knowledge.
• PC literate (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Experience of estimating or value engineering, generating parts lists, costings etc.
• Highly developed communication skills.
• Well organised, logical and accurate.
• Mechanical knowledge.

Mechanical Engineering knowledge of electromagnets, UHV will be an advantage.
