KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SHER:
* Devise, compile & implement maintenance procedures, engineering standards / specifications, Risk assessments and method statements and other SHER systems

* Manage / co-ordinate / participate in routine audits / inspections into management processes, employee injuries, near misses and consent breaches

* Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures within the working environment

Maintenance systems, strategy and service levels

* Co-ordinate the activities of the maintenance technicians, providing clear, concise direction and counselling to the team to maximise employee contribution and ensure delivery of the maintenance plan as agreed with the Process Manager.

* To ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with all safety, quality, cost, and productivity targets.

* Responsible for Development and management of the sites maintenance budget

* Develop and optimise the sites Planned preventative and predictive maintenance regime through the deployment of FMECA and RCM techniques

* Drive the development and utilisation of the company's CMMS and validate the its data integrity to cause and effect analysis level

* Own the OEE loss reduction programme for the engineering related categories, using appropriate tools, techniques and resources

* Develop and embed causal analysis techniques into day to day operations

* Develop all maintenance and engineering management practices and procedures to sustainably deliver the national strategy

* Participate in capital projects at all stages - acting as lead engineer for all site based improvement and replacement activities, and as customer representative for all strategic investments

* Responsible for the management and review of allocated outsourced contracts

* Responsible for own and team's development and to carryout objective setting, performance appraisals and development planning - moving towards a self management culture

* Mentor the sites shift managers on engineering related issues to validate interventions and decision making capability on technical issues

Measures of Success

* Safety performance: Accident Frequency, Hazard reporting,
* MTTR , MTBF, Technical Availability and no. Breakdowns
* PM completion statistics including Non team maintenance, %pm time etc
* Contractor KPI measures relating to plant reliability
* RCA compliance rates
* Stock measures - Stock turns, IRA, stockouts etc

KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

Knowledge & Experience

* Degree (or equivalent)qualified in a related engineering discipline
* Attained or working towards Chartered status
* At least five years experience of engineering (projects and maintenance) within an automated process environment
