My Client is looking for a hard working customer focused individual to become part of the massive expansion experienced by the business during recent years.
The inspector must be experienced in working in a BS EN ISO 9001 environment, and will report to the Quality Manager. The inspector will be responsible mainly for the mechanical engineering inspection of precision machined components, but also including castings, forgings, welded fabrications etc., at all inspection stages:-
•Goods inwards inspection.
•Stage inspection.
•Final pre-delivery inspections.
The inspector will also:-
•Produce inspection reports
•Carry out investigations into quality problems and provide advice on possible corrective action
•Ensure that measuring equipment is maintained in a known state of calibration
Key Skills
My client are currently commissioning a new inspection room equipped with two Mitutoyo CMM machines. Experience in operating this high precision equipment would be an asset although training will be provided.
The successful candidate will:
•Be a qualified, time served, mechanical engineer
•Be competent in the use of a wide range of precision measuring equipment including; digital height gauges and Faro arms
•Fully conversant with engineering drawings and conventions
•Aware of the application and interpretation of British and international standards relating to dimensional accuracy, surface finish and integrity of mechanical engineering components and welded fabrications
•Conversant with a wide range of material specifications and associated certification
•Demonstrate an ability to plan, co-ordinate and organise work and inspection procedures
•Have an ability to maintain deadlines under pressure
•Awareness of BS EN ISO 9001 requirements
•Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
