Mechanical Engineer
Our client is the first choice provider of operations management, maintenance, engineering and construction services to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to be based at their Great Yarmouth base.
Responsibilities:
• Managing and supporting the day-to-day maintenance of the onshore and offshore mechanical systems and acting as the authority. Ensuring that the facilities integrity, reliability, availability and maintainability of the relevant mechanical and lifting equipment are optimised, so that production targets can be achieved.
• Integrating maintenance change and control through condition monitoring implementation and analysis using best practice maintenance tactics.
• Provide first line onshore support for the planning, execution and re-prioritising of the maintenance strategy implementation of planned and corrective maintenance.
• Managing the relevant onshore vendor activities, materials, spares and performance.
• Acting as the Mechanical and Technical authority whilst providing support to operations personnel for planned and corrective maintenance of mechanical and lifting equipment in normal and hazardous environments.
• Knowledge and implementation of appropriate legislation, company policy, COMAH case, procedures and Safety Management System for all work.
• Performance monitoring of all mechanical plant, associated mechanical control systems and equipment.
• Development of the MAXIMO maintenance management system and implementation of the condition based, non-intrusive maintenance strategy.
• Manages maintenance programmes and mechanical shutdown work.
• Ensures all sub-contractor work is carried out in accordance with the contract deliverables.
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent standard in a Mechanical or Integrity engineering based discipline.
• Previous in depth experience of mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Relevant offshore/onshore experience of hydrocarbon processing, utilities plant and associated legislation
• A well organised individual with sound and effective communication skills.
• Awareness of commercial and cost control issues
• Sound judgement and fact based decision making
• Effective team contributor delivering against schedule driven targets and deadlines
• Good Project Management skills
• Attainment of Competent Person Profile.
• Understand importance of process & procedure and the associated accuracy requirements.
• Self-starter who can act on own initiative.
• Effective communicator at all levels and with external parties and demonstrates assertiveness.
• Form part of the SNS Emergency Response Team as required by Company Emergency Response Procedures.
