The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural history through exhibitions and public programmes.
The Touring Exhibitions Department has a dual function of generating income for the Natural History Museum and of furthering the reach of the Museum’s core mission and brand by touring exhibitions to all sorts of venues across the world.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Electrical Engineer to assist with the installation and maintenance of the museum’s touring exhibits and exhibitions. Travelling both nationally and internationally, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of animatronic models as well as the exhibitions and provide technical input and layouts.
You should have a proven track record of working in a workshop/work site environment including the installation of engineering components.
A City and Guilds (or equivalent) in an electro-mechanical engineering production related subject, and good working knowledge of engineering design tools including AutoCAD are essential for this post.
