Production Engineer – Slough, Berkshire

Our client is part of a global organisation manufacturing specialist precision engineered electro-mechanical devices. They have an assembly for manufacture operation utilising lean manufacturing techniques in a cellular environment and are looking to appoint a Production Engineer to join their successful team.

As Production Engineer you will have the following responsibilities;

• Provide engineering support within manufacturing to ensure that product designs meet safety, quality, cost and delivery standards.
• Assist in the introduction of new technology and processes to improve safety, quality and productivity for existing and new product introductions.
• Solve problems and improve processes and methods within manufacturing teams, driving change and continuous improvement.
• Action product design changes and produce assembly planning documents for all stages of the manufacturing process.
• Manage programmes for change and continuous improvement, promoting a right first time culture, using lean manufacturing, problem solving and continuous improvement techniques and by addressing customer complaints.

The ideal candidate should have a good mix of the following skills and experience;
• Engineering degree or HND qualification.
• Manufacturing experience ideally with electro-mechanical background.
• Desktop CAD packages.
• Familiarity with writing specifications, procedures and instructions.
• Experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Strong MS Office skills (word/Excel)
• Highly motivated, organised individual able to work well independently & within a team.
