JOB TITLE: Senior Civil & Structural Engineer
LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire
SALARY: £60k + Benefits + Pension
DURATION: Permanent

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Experience in Process / Petrochemical industry.
• 10 year’s experience of working within a project & design engineering environment.
• Good technical knowledge of design of concrete and steel structures with an understanding timber, masonry codes etc.
• Experience in the use of design software.
• Leading design activities within the Civil / Structural Design Department. Ensuring the design activities are delivered in a safe, cost effective and timely manner and in compliance with the company’s Quality Management System.
• Provide Engineering Support to the Civil / Structural design department.
• Ensure Safety, Health & Environmental protection are inherent in the engineering design
• Understand and incorporate the key requirements of the Basis of Safety into the engineering design
• Ensure constructability of design and that it fully meets the requirements of the Client
• Ensure essential company, (internal & customer) and statutory design standards are effectively and consistently applied with respect to Civil / Structural Design.
• Liaise directly with Client and other disciplines within the company to ensure design encompasses all project stakeholders requirements.
• Identify and manage all key engineering risks to minimise their impact on the project
• Provide design cost estimates and programmes to departmental manager or client.
• Carry out engineering designs to appropriate statutory codes using computer software as necessary
• Provide appropriate engineering support for fabrication and construction activities
• Provide supervision, advice and engineering input to CAD Designers and engineers
• Fully understand and work to relevant procedures within the CMS system
• Check calculations and approve drawings prior to issue
• Carry out civil and structural inspections on site and write reports
• Leadership of design team taking responsibility for civil / structural design
• Direct liaison with client at P.M level.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
• Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
• Chartered status ( MIStructE or MICE )
