Are a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality products renowned worldwide within the military and defence sectors
Have been established for over 100 years and export to over 40 countries

Duties include:-

To assist in the introduction of new products into manufacture, and identify areas of improvement within existing processes
To provide technical guidance and support to other members of the department and suppliers during the manufacture of tooling and equipment to ensure a safe and effective result.
To assist in setting PPM plans for machinery and tooling.
To encourage a safe, innovative and enthusiastic work environment by involving others in the design process and stimulating ideas for improvement of methods and facilities.
To assist in the scheduling of work and products through the factory.
To compile, implement and review engineering risk assessments
To serve on and lead Six Sigma improvement teams as and when required.

The Suitable Candidate:-

Relevant experience in a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer role, from a mechanical engineering background
Experience in Process Improvements and Lean Manufacturing
Apprentice trained and HND qualified (or equivalent)
Ability to read engineering drawings
Good computer skills
Practical hands on engineering skills together with the ability to design and implement ideas
Strong written and verbal communication skills
