This is an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a rapidly expanding business area for a leading technology company. Our client requires a Manufacturing Engineer to work as part of Global Planning Team. The successful candidate will be required to plan, design, setup, modify, optimise and monitor manufacturing processes and will be an integral part of the Sales and Operations group working with planners, inventory, supply and finance professionals, providing presentations and feedback to customers and senior management.
Responsibilities
" Global Support of the design of new production systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
" Work with other engineers and project managers to ensure all product capacity and system requirements are taken into account from the initial product conception to the finished result.
" Develop production capacity plans, or load profiles, using critical or key resources. These plans determine the amount of production capacity that is needed.
" Provide management and customers with a distance view of production capacity needs so the long term plan can be validated.
" Identify and access operational limitations with respect to resources and equipment. An understanding of process data to help determine if process detractors are statistically significant.
" Audit SAP routing and work centre data to ensure the theoretical resources and time files are matched to the physical and actual timings measured on the line.
" Manage capacity in the production locations to ensure the supply side is balanced' by the demand side and that no bottle neck or constraint exists within the production process. Should the business model change, then the efficient re-distribution of equipment between the locations is essential.
" Capacity centre of expertise for all matters within the organisation; to create a combined, accurate, and consistent view of the core information as well as process assets.
" Report and performance monitoring to allow informed management decisions to be made.
" Knowledge and detailed understanding of all production stages provides a backdrop to all matters in relation to capacity
Required Skill Set
" Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or similar (relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement).
" Strong communication and presentation skills.
" Ability to prioritise and coordinate activities while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines and support others.
" Ability to work both independently and as part of a team but with a high degree of self motivation and autonomy.
" Fully proficient with Windows operating system and MS office applications especially excel.
" Proven ability of MRP / ERP systems (particularly SAP) an advantage.
