You will lead project teams to drive transactional business improvements, scope moderately complex projects, develop project plans and business cases, recruit, train, and lead project team members. You will report to the Business Transformation Support Manager and will be responsible to direct the efforts of Team Members/consultants in various areas of project management.
This Black Belt role is to work within the Business Transformation programme which will be working over the next 3 years to stabilise current business processes and preparing the business for the launch of the new SAP system. Projects will be focused on data cleansing, re-engineering of business processes and installations of strategic software within the AT business.
The Role:
Lead projects where the subject focus and solutions are moderately complex in nature, availability, and attainability.
Lead improvement projects within the value centre and effectively coordinate these projects with the Project Sponsor and other improvement project teams.
Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to manage team activities, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members.
It is also critical to identify integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.
Key areas of responsibility are to manage: Business process controls, data cleansing, stabilising business processes and eliminating waste, introducing new processes and systems. This is not an easy task as a significant level of change is required and this will be challenging.
Measure results. Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met. Provide Project Sponsor with the results and take corrective project action as required to improve on results below target.
Communicate. Ensure multi-channel communication throughout the organization. This includes keeping the Project Sponsor informed of program status and ensuring coordination of activities with other Black Belts. Also, this includes capturing project case histories that can be re-used for other projects.
Requirements:
Must be a results oriented change agent who is an effective business systems thinker.
Must be able to manage risk and ambiguity on a project.
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Manufacturing or Business or an equivalent level of work experience.
3-5 years of professional level experience. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Should have project management skills and good communication skills.
Should hold sound business knowledge.
Demonstrated leadership skills are essential.
Must have the ability to learn and have solid computer skills.
SAP experience would be a huge advantage along with some business process knowledge in Manufacturing (Supply Chain, Routings BOM's), Purchasing and Sales and Operations Planning.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle change.
Training in 6 Sigma and Lean will be provided.
