We're currently seeking to recruit a Process Plant Operations Manager / Plant Manager to lead a small team of Operators charged with the safe and efficient operation of a Biogas Plant (changing Food Waste into Energy) which will produce both heat and power.

Reporting to the director, the Plant Supervisor has a very responsible position to uphold. Whilst on duty, in addition to leading a small team of Operators, you will after training: -

Take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and correct operation of the anaerobic digestion plant including hands on operation duties as required.

Ensure operation of the site Control System and Continuous Emissions System

Manage SHEQ issues, safe systems of work, maintenance contractors

Make informed decisions regarding plant performance ensuring strict adherence to the Environmental Permit, plus administration and record keeping.

Direct and/or carry out 1st line maintenance tasks when necessary

Compile monthly management reports to the board, reporting on budgets, performance and EHS issues

Management of both the closed loop single client and external relationships such as EA.

To be considered you should be a HND/degree qualified (or equivalent) Mechanical, Marine, Chemical Engineer or Industrial Chemist with experience working within a process industry and be familiar with computer controlled plant operation. Computer literate and a can-do attitude are essential as is a driving licence.

The package on offer to the successful applicants will be competitive for the industry paying £35,000 depending on skills and experience. As the site will run 24 hours a day an element of being "on call" will be required.
