Mechanical Design role with the opportunity to progress into senior management in a highly varied position where you will manage projects from concept to manufacture.

This well established company offer a high-quality, bespoke design service and machine precision parts for a broad range of blue chip companies and industries. Having grown by over 20% last year and facing the busiest time in their history they are looking for a design engineer to join their organisation.

Reporting into the Technical Manager you will be looking after the design of precision components and special purpose machinery from quotation through to delivery. You will be in close contact with customers to formulate the design solutions so it is essential that you have a good sense of commercial acumen coupled with an attention to detail as many projects will be working to tight tolerances.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer who has managed multiple design projects at any one time from cradle to grave looking for career development, lots of responsibility and the chance to work in a diverse, challenging role that will see you regularly deal with customers to create solutions.

The Role:
*Mechanical design of precision components and special purpose machinery
*Involved in projects from initial customer specification through to delivery
*Visiting customer sites and preparing initial concept drawings
*Costing of parts and materials, preparing detailed drawings for manufacture
*Assembling and testing designs prior to dispatch

The Person:
*Mechanical design experience (2D and 3D)
*An ability to manage and prioritise multiple design projects
*Experience of working with sheet metal
*Ideally from a precision Machine shop, fabrication or extensive experience in design for manufacture
*Ambitious, personable and looking to further develop your career
