PLC Programmer

Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a PLC Programmer to join an established business specialising in bespoke equipment within the food industry. With your time split, working both on site and a small proportion of your time working UK wide and overseas, this is a great position where the individual would be able to develop and grow with an expanding organisation.

The Company:
Our client has been established for a number of years and provides bespoke machinery for large clients within the food industry. They design and manufacture all equipment utilising specialist staff on projects from inception through to completion. Our client has in excess of 100 people working at their sole site and currently turnover around £13million. They have secured a number of lucrative contracts over the past 3 years and plan to expand their product range to meet client demands.

The Role of a PLC Programmer:
The role of a PLC Programmer will be a mixture of working from site and completing UK and Worldwide travel. Whilst working at site, you will be responsible for writing code, completing various duties on software and hardware, producing necessary documentation and running customer acceptance tests. The remaining 20% of your work will be to work alongside a team of project engineers, travelling UK and Worldwide, commissioning the equipment and liaising with customers regarding the Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC’s.

Key Skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience of programming Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC’s with strong electrical and mechanical skills. You must have worked to at least 3-Phase Electrics and have some basic Pneumatic knowledge. The ideal candidate will have worked on a variety of Cylinders, Motors, Valves and Drives and worked within a fast paced environment.

Salary: Basic £30,000 - £40,000

Commutable from: Biggleswade, Bedford, Bedfordshire; Royston, Hertfordshire; St.Neots, Cambridgeshire;

Candidates may have relevant experience having held roles as a: PLC Specialist, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, and Controls Engineer.
