Our client is now looking for an experienced Production Planner to join the team in Gateshead, with a competitive salary.

The Production Planner will be responsible for producing a detailed machine shop schedule on a daily basis, with regards to customer requirements, roll positioning and the capability of the plant. You will effectively manage the daily, weekly and monthly production plan, ensuring it is communicated successfully to the manufacturing team, and in accordance with customer delivery dates. Liaising with internal departments, the \ Production Planner will also identify any potential constraints and issues so to establish alternative solutions as and when appropriate. You will also work closely with supervision/management to understand daily progress, and ensure key performance indicators are reviewed so improvement plans can be created to improve overall performance.

The ideal Production Planner will be HNC/HND qualified, possibly with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, although this is not essential. You will need to have excellent computer literacy, especially in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge and experience of Production Planning, Planning / Scheduling packages, and shop Floor Data collection would be a distinct advantage.
