Job Profile:

Responsible for NPI the successful applicant will join a dynamic team working on the world leading products.

We are looking for an applicant who can demonstrate that they have the potential to progress quickly to Principal Engineer level.

Qualifications:

An understanding of off highway construction or agricultural equipment would be advantageous.

Ideally, you will have a strong engineering background, possessing a Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent experience.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of URGENCY and ownership of projects they are involved with.

Experience:

Good working knowledge of either: Hydraulics, Transmission, Structures/Fabrications, FEA, Cooling Systems, Brakes, Steering

Have a clear understanding of Design Process and the need for URGENCY

Demonstrate the ability to interpret Standards and design solutions to meet the requirements

3D CAD system operation (NX preferable) to conduct design studies and concept work

Good and logical problem solving techniques

Demonstrate sound grasp of engineering principles

Ability to interface with other members of the team including: Manufacturing, Service and Marketing

Be a self-starter, demonstrate the ability to make things happen

Have the ability to communicate clearly across the organisation

Responsibilities:

Design of major machine elements and sub-systems to meet JCB and External Standards in line with NPI requirements

Progress prototype builds to plan to allow testing

Completion of design activity to close out Engineering risks

Failure investigation and analysis - 8D

Presentation of design solutions at design reviews

Develop and validate component and system specifications

Formal design documentation to include; FMEA, DFMEA, DVPSOR, Risk Assessment, change documentation and drawings.

Basic Hours: 39hrs / week 08:30 to 17:00 (16:00 on Fridays)

Salary/Rate: £28,000 - £38,000 for highly experienced engineer

Relocation: Negotiable- generally covering all physical relocation costs.
