Job Position: Design Engineer (AutoCAD 2012)

Reporting To: Design Manager

Job Status: Contract

Job Profile:

You will be responsible for the general arrangement and detailed design drawings, P&ID's and design documentation for a number of contracts.
You will serve as the main design contact for customers and other departments, and will ensure that design requirements are scheduled and successfully completed. Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

You must be educated to a minimum of HNC within a Process or Mechanical Engineering subject.
You must have previous Design experience using AUTOCAD 2012.
You must have previous experience working as a Design Engineer, ideally within the Water industry, however candidates from Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Process or similar industries may be considered. Please note Candidates without the skills and experience above will be rejected.

Some travel to external projects will be required, so you must be able to do this.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Project and other MS Office programs.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to a variety of complex, non-standard situations.
Ability to produce and understand specification, fabrication, erection, and standard engineering drawings.
Ability to work within a small multi-disciplined team.
Knowledge of Commercial Terms & Conditions and Contract law.
You will need a full UK Driving Licence. Job Description:

Reviewing all applicable job data, project plans, specs, and providing comments when applicable.
Coordinating with other departments and Project Engineers and Managers to meet scheduled task deadlines, maintain schedule for purchasing.
Advising Design Manager of design status while adhering to all appropriate policies and established procedures.
Communicating promptly with customer(s) both internal and external on any design issues.
Communicating with suppliers to review design details and grant approval for manufacture.
Performs all work in accordance with established ISO and company IMS procedures.
Maintain records of DTN's; DCR's etc.
Set up schedules for the timely submission and completion of all drawings and technical data.
Production of all GA and detailed design drawings using AutoCAD 12.
Production of P&Id's, Process Block Diagrams, Hydraulic Gradients and Schematics as required by the individual projects.
Attendance at regular in-house design review meetings.
Maintain contact with the customer, advising of progress, responding to correspondence and any queries relating to that contract.
Attend design meetings with the customer as necessary, both in the UK and Overseas if required.
Maintain quality documentation in accordance with company IMS system.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents.
Ability to respond effectively to technical and commercial issues by phone, Email or face to face.
Ability to prepare and communicate status reports. Salary/Rate: Up to £18.19 per hour PAYE or £23.82 Limited company
