Description Our client is a national multi disciplinary consulting engineering company with a regional office locally. They are looking for an experienced structural technican to work in their busy building structures team.
As a technician you should have a good understanding of all types of building structures; - Traditional, Steel frame and Concrete construction is essential, experience of Timber frame construction would be an advantage.
You should be capable of working on their own initiative, with little guidance from the structural engineer, ie to interpret Architects drawings and be able to best guess foundation layouts. Floor spans and type of construction required, to create construction details including connection details with minimal input prior to passing to the engineer
for final design and fine tuning.
It would also be an advantage to have an understanding of
- Basic Civils ie drainage and roads
- Capable to carry out reinforcement detailing
- Further relevant specialist areas.
