Transportation is a core sector of our clients business. The Transportation Unit provides a wide range of technical, managerial and analytical services to their customers throughout the world.

A Senior Modeller is required for their PRISM team. PRISM West Midlands is the strategic transport model that our client operates and maintains for the West Midlands metropolitan authorities, the Highways Agency and Centro. It is based on advanced disaggregate demand modelling techniques, combined with detailed network modelling, and is recognised worldwide as state-of-the-art. Their existing PRISM contract extends to at least 2014. They are now gearing up for a model re-validation exercise to coincide with the 2011 Census.

Job Description
A key member of the modelling team, you will lead the PRISM team and will assist in delivering, managing or directing projects. Your responsibilities would include:

? You will act as a technical leader and project manager on a range of projects with a team of 9-12 staff, dependent on workload.
? Providing technical leadership.
? Engage in business development, client interaction, team and project management and outreach activities
? Working closely on the delivery of the clients current portfolio of PRISM work
? Assisting in expanding and extending markets, including those within the Group.
? Overall financial control and monitoring of project programmes.
? Consulting with wide ranging client groups and the public.
? Complying with QA requirements and industry best practice.
? Assisting in the management of the modelling team.
? Undertaking research in line with Divisional business development objectives.
Candidate Specification We would like you to have extensive multi-modal modelling and appraisal experience, with in-depth knowledge of DfT good practice and an affinity with VISUM software.

? Have a degree in a numerate discipline; a post graduate qualification would be desirable but not essential.
? A senior modeller with extensive modelling and appraisal experience likely to have been gained over 10 years
? In-depth knowledge of guidance and good practice and an affinity with VISUM transport modelling software
? Preferably a background in a consultancy environment
? Experience of additional packages, SATURN, VISSIM will be useful but not essential.
? Have membership of a professional institution such as ICE, TPS, ICE or CILT
? Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Expertise in programming is desirable, e.g. Visual Basic, VBA.
? Capable and comfortable working in a team environment
