Senior Consultant – Waste and Resource Efficiency

An established and forward thinking waste management consultancy is looking to appoint a commercially experienced consultant to head up projects and look after clients in EITHER Sustainable Resource and Waste Management OR Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Management, working with waste producers, local authorities and other organisations.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead on consultancy projects with clients in the public and private sector
• Work closely with Principal Consultants to develop business within your specialist skill area (Recycling, waste reduction and re-use; Reprocessing infrastructure development; or sustainable supply chains)
• Provide technical advice on operational and strategic waste management and recycling; infrastructure projects; carbon reduction; and sustainable supply chains
• Mentor junior consultants
• Produce regular reports as required by management
• Ensure the reputation of the company is upheld in all work that you carry out

Skills

• Educated to at least degree level within the environmental or waste management disciplines,
• Postgraduate qualification in an area of sustainability, environment or supply chain would be advantageous
• Membership of IEMA, CIWM, CIWEM, ICE, ICEM, CIPS or similar is preferred
• Previous experience in a commercial consultancy environment, including project design and delivery, process and people management
• Business development experience
• EITHER: waste and resource management experience, including contract and facilities management, knowledge of current UK legislation and strategy, carbon management, WRATE life cycle assessment, waste flow modelling etc
• OR: Sustainable supply chain and procurement experience, including risk analysis, identifying areas for improvement within the supply chain, carbon data analysis etc
