Our Optical client is currently looking to recruit an Optical Advisor to be responsible to the Branch Manager. The purpose of this role is to ensure delivery of a high quality professional service, with high standards of dispensing, customer satisfaction, and support for the Optometrist result in the achievement of branch targets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: To identify and satisfy customer-dispensing needs, maximising income opportunity; To collect all money due on the day, completing necessary paperwork in line with Company procedures and advising customers when any outstanding amounts are due; To complete the necessary administrative procedures within Company and PCT or Health Board deadlines; To ensure the smooth running of the day by efficient setting up, control of patient flow and completion of venue administration; To use initiative to maximise income generation; To promote the good image of the Company and act as a positive ambassador at all times; Maintain high standards at all times in terms of personal appearance; Using knowledge to offer suitable selection of product choices and recommend appropriately; Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure records and paperwork are returned to the branch; To ensure optical equipment is in good condition and working order. To also ensure frame selection is up to date and well presented. All faults or replacements required should be reported to the appropriate person at the branch; To carry out fittings and adjustments; To carry out vision screening where required; To take responsibility for identifying own training and development needs; Being available for staff meetings and training sessions; To adhere at all times to the Company Health & Safety procedures and to ensure that the vehicles are roadworthy and driven safely within the law.

The successful candidate will be professional and dexterousness with excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to liase at all levels. A full Driving Licence is also essential.

Adaptability, planning and co-ordinating, self-starting, self discipline and good listening skills are all desirable.

Starting salary is £14,000 with company car, fuel allowance and company mobile.
