Transport Dispatch Supervisor - Multi Drop Distribution - Building Supplies

Based in Hatfield for a dynamic and growing transport operation who delivers building supplies, this role will require you to continually adjust and revise transport schedules. You will be the first point of contact to customers and therefore need to proactively and effectively communicate at all times
One of your key duties will be to manage the employees and all areas of the Transport

Department in an effective manner, in order to deliver goods to designated delivery points in the timescale required. You will need to have at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a fast paced transport operation. Additionally you will be tenacious, results focused and flexible in your approach with strong attention to detail.

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate relevant transport management experience in a high volume, service driven transport distribution operation. A Driver CPC is preferred and it is essential that you know your fleet compliance and driver legislation and have had previous experience of managing a Transport budget.

Duties will include and are not limited to:-
-Allocation of Units / Trailers and drivers to duties
-Ensure operation running legally
-Drivers Hours management
-Management of duties, reduction / increase of runs from basic schedule
-Reaction to and handling of ad-hoc situations
-Liaisons with warehouse and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth running of operation
-Maintenance of transport management systems
-Administrative duties and maintenance of internal database and spread sheet
-Compliance with depot policies and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate will have:-
-Administrative experience
-Ability to mutli task
-Man-management skills
-Able to communicate confidently and adapt style as necessary
-Knowledge of driving hours legislation
-Transport environment experience

Hours are Monday to Friday with two Saturdays a month.

A competitive salary package is offered and following a successful probationary period, a bonus and commission structure will be implemented
