Transport Co-Ordinator

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the chosen transport area managing all issues that arise in an accurate & efficient manner. The role will include key projects to drive efficiencies & cost control, and the main responsibilities will include:
• To be the first point of contact for transport related matters, instigating the resolution of issues arising from the daily operational activities.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and manage customer’s expectations whilst operating within tight budgetary conditions.
• Collate, report and analyse financial and operational data for weekly and monthly reports
• Actively pursues continuous improvement in line with quality initiatives and ensures all activities are conducted in line with business controls and guidelines
• Support the agenda to promote a people and safety culture within the site
• Responds to and understands the needs and values of external and internal customers and anticipates and plans for changes in their requirements

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences...
• Previous experience of a supply chain/ logistics role is ideal.
• Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to all tasks
• A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance
• A professional approach when interacting with internal and external customers and service providers.
• Proven analytical skills, together with the ability to resolve complex problems by identifying long term solutions in terms of process/ IT changes as appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form
• The ability to manage projects in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets.
• Strong IT skills which should include, SAP, Excel, Word, Project and Outlook.
