This well established co-educational school based in Egypt are looking for a inspirational Biology Teacher to teach High School students of the American School.

The School

This school has roughly 1500 pupils aged 3-18 years old. The American school runs from Grade 1 – 12 and the British School runs from Foundation Stage to A Level. This school is recognised as one of the best international schools in Egypt. The British school achieves exceptional GCSE and GCE results and has been rated as “Good with Outstanding features” by the Department of Education through British Schools Overseas. The American School is accredited by AdvancEd (NCA-CASI); and the British school by BSME. The school is well staffed & resourced and staff retention rates are incredibly high. Approximately 80% of teachers extend beyond their initial contract and nearly 50% have been employed for 5+ years.

The Ideal Biology Teacher:

• Must be able to teach Biology confidently to High School level students
• Must be an inspiring & a fully Qualified Teacher
• Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience post qualification
• Have experience of teaching in the USA
• Ideally have a current US Teaching License
• Ideally be a US passport holder

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept applications from certain nationalities (notably South Africa, India and Pakistan, but also including a number of other African and Asian states) because we cannot get work permits for passport holders from these countries. Age restrictions also apply in order to get initial work permits.

The Salary

The following benefits are offered for expatriate staff includes:

• Tax Free Salary roughly $33,500 USD pa
• Initial 1 or 2 year contract (can be discussed at interview)

Although the salary may seem comparably lower than those in the USA, please remember the cost of living in Egypt is considerably lower. Expat teachers can expect to save around $750+ USD per month on this salary and still lead a very comfortable lifestyle.
