Training & Development Officer
Identifying Training Needs
* To undertake regular analysis of organisational and occupational statutory and mandatory learning needs (i.e. training needs analysis, job shadowing, questionnaires)
* Regularly assess contracted employment partners statutory and mandatory training and ensure that standards are being met from the client requirement
* Ensure that identified learning needs are effectively translated into learning action, taking into account the most appropriate spectrum of learning, learning objectives, learning methods and methods of evaluating the learning
Training Design and Development
* Design and continually develop statutory and mandatory training courses and associated materials making sure they are up to date and relevant for purpose ensuring they meet the needs of the business
* Maintain and update templates for use in the training design process and for all training courses
* Work with contracted employment partners to ensure training courses and associated materials are being developed meeting the needs from a client requirement
RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery
* To maintain statutory and mandatory training for staff across the portfolio and ensure that required training is completed to organisational standards
* Deliver in house training ensuring that the relevant aim and objectives are achieved
* Ensure that training delivery complies with standards set by external professional bodies i.e.CIEH / IEMA / Institute of Customer Service
Evaluation
* Ensure all learning and development interventions have an agreed process of evaluation and that evaluation is completed
* Compile updates for the Training and Development Manager reporting on training evaluation.
Auditing and Monitoring
* Maintain and update auditing and monitoring processes for and employment partners (e.g. Shield) training activity
* Complete a yearly audit of and contracted employment partners training activity ensuring results are communicated to the relevant parties and action plans are put into place to deal with any findings
* Monitor contracted employment partners training activity on a quarterly basis identifying training gaps that exist and ensuring plans are put into place to deal with the gaps
General
* Ensure effective relationships are maintained with centre management and staff, employment partners and external parties
* Assist in delivery of key Business Plan objectives
* Keep up to date with developments in the training field to ensure best practice and organisational effectiveness
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Training qualification (CTP or equivalent)
* Experience of working within the full training cycle environment
* Proven training and development experience
* Experience of designing / delivering management & development training
* Knowledge of learning styles and the relationship to learning design
* Knowledge of methods of meeting learning needs such as Multisensory, NLP, Visual/Music/Multimedia,Dialogue, Facilitative etc
* Experience of measuring effectiveness of learning interventions and ROI
* Full, clean driving licence
* Flexibility to work away from home
