There is now an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Clients expanding Company at a key stage of its growth.
The Jobs
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidates will take responsibility depending on their job title bias, for the running of all production operations with overall accountability for meeting customer expectations in terms of quality and delivery, and driving forward lean manufacturing strategies. This senior manager will:
• Take responsibility for the management of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe working and timely product availability, to exacting quality standards for complex, low to medium volume, high mix electronic assemblies.
• Manage all aspects of Operations procurement, supply chain and inventory management as well as environmental issues relating to products manufactured and their components. This includes using our MRP system to enable the effective procurement of all items and services to provide the company's range of products in a timely fashion.
• Work closely with the engineering team on new product developments and their introduction to manufacturing.
• Identify opportunities for and promote continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Provide the weekly status review for production and forecast deliveries, together with current information on specific orders.
• Oversee all aspects of product testing.
• Provide monthly feedback on results and quality, resolving issues and instigating the appropriate investigations, corrective and preventative actions on faults.
• Ensure compliance with import and export regulations.
• Contribute to the process of developing and implementing strategy across manufacturing and supply chain operations to keep pace with growth in turnover and ensure the efficient completion of contracts whilst achieving the company's required quality standards and margins.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• At least 5 years relevant manufacturing management expertise with electronic assemblies.
• Qualified to degree level or similar.
• Materials and supply chain management experience.
• Preference will be given to those who also have knowledge of testing electronic assemblies.
• Knowledge of export regulations.
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the Company.
