Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer with a minimum of 2 years' experience. Manufacturing experience is also essential.
Some international travel may be required, therefore candidates must be UK/EU nationals.
Job Description
Being part of a hard working, small team, the job will involve designing innovative, problem solving products for retail spaces, education and industry, therefore some experience in manufacturing is essential.
You will be expected to keep up with current and upcoming interface specs.
Skills and experience
A minimum of 2 years' CAD (sch and pcb) experience with schematic capture and PCB design. This experience will be tested at interview.
Hands-on experience or in-depth knowledge of PCle.
Off-line (90-250VAC) AC-DC converter design to 50W
DC-DC converter design to 200W.
Microcontroller programming skills in C for 12C, LCD, Ethernet and USB (host and peripheral).
Experience with product certification/testing/listing with UL (or ETL), FCC and CE.
Ability to use a soldering iron.
Appreciation of manufacturing processes (PCB and board assembly) and the ability to talk direct to manufacturers.
Confidence to talk direct to clients regarding custom design specifications as well as supporting clients/OEMs who are using the products.
Full UK driving license.
Other skills would include:
Knowledge of the inner workings of OS X and Windows
Ability to develop OS X or Windows apps in some language
Solidworks experience
Transformer design
Inductive power transfer optimisation
USB over Ethernet
