Description:
Our client is planning to dramatically accelerate the development of in-vehicle HMI in order to meet and exceed customer expectations within our future vehicle lines.
To support this we are looking for an engineer with substantial experience in the design and development of leading edge HMI software.
The successful candidate will be extensively involved initially in establishing the HMI software architecture for our in-vehicle touchscreens and then take a hands-on development role to deliver a robust, intuitive and desirable HMI for our customers.
This position would provide an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer from the following sectors to apply their skills to next generation of premium vehicles: - Mobile industry - Gaming - Desktop applications - Web applications
Experience Required:
Extensive experience in modelling/coding leading edge embedded HMI applications
Proven delivery performance - essential
Experience Preferred:
OpenGL/ES API concurrent programming (multi-threading/process) software performance analysis and optimization techniques optimizing 2D/3D graphics and video playback through the use of hardware accelerators modelling tools (State machine/State flow) development of automotive HMI systems (touch screens, instrument clusters) 2D and 3D graphical tools such as Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop/3ds Max software version control applications (SVN/CVS) software testing
Education:
Preferred:
While not essential a degree in software engineering or subject closely related to consumer electronics would be desirable
Skills Required:
Very good cross platform C++ knowledge of software architectures and their impact on HMI performance
Excellent communication and requirements capturing/questioning skills (written & verbal)
Very good logical and analytical thinking Ability to work quickly, effectively to a high standards while coping with requirements change
Good team work but with ability to work independently and self-efficiently when required
Additional Info: Must be willing to travel between Client sites
Basic Hours: 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £31.44 Ltd Co
