Description TN03 - RF Systems Engineer
Role
Systems Engineer - to evaluate the performance of new cutting edge mixed mode (analogue and digital) CMOS silicon integrated circuit designs.
We are a successful and growing company, with a customer base that is expanding and already includes large and demanding companies from sectors such as cellular mobile phones, headsets and computer industries, where a rapid professional response to issues is mandatory.
To facilitate customer design processes, we publish reference data books giving performance parameters of its range of Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi devices. The primary role for this applicant will be to assist in acquiring initial performance data.
The candidate will spend a significant time in the lab using remotely controlled test and measurement equipment. This will include writing embedded C code and Matlab test scripts. While a significant proportion of time is spent working within the System Design Group support to other areas of the company is necessary - thus the ability to handle rapidly shifting priorities is a requirement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
? Writing Matlab code to control instrument and data acquisition
? Writing Embedded code to exercise chip functionality
? Maintaining test scripts and developing for new features
? Understand and develop methods for testing Analogue circuits with in a digital chip
The applicant would be joining a key group within the company and responsibilities would be reflected accordingly.
Experience
This role is very open ended and depends to an extent on the ability of the candidate. It would suit an experienced engineer with Matlab skills or a graduate who has experience of programming and a keen interest in learning a powerful technical programming language.
The applicant should be capable of working using an analytical approach as part of a team or individually and would ideally be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following skills:
? Knowledge of Matlab and its use in a test environment
? Should have experience in C programming
? Problem solving
Applicants should have a keen desire to learn and investigate.
