Description		Global leader in Security printing & papermaking, a business that is involved in the production of over 150 National currencies, a wide range of security products such as passports, authentication labels & fiscal stamps and pioneers in Government Identity solutions for national identification, drivers licence and passport issuing schemes seeks to appoint a truly high calibre individual to configure, implement and commission software solutions for IDS projects around the world. Following the handover of a project from Sales to Operations, you will own the software development, configuration and testing activities required to implement the project, and whilst fully conversant with the software design as specified in the contract, you will provide input to the Functional Specification regarding feasibility and best practice design methodologies. You will own, generate and maintain all technical system documentation, ensuring proper version control is employed in accordance with the latest standards and have responsibility for the installation and commissioning of project hardware and software both in the UK and overseas as necessary. Possessing excellent communication skills at all levels, you will assist in the training of internal and customer staff on the technology utilised by the Company, whilst working with the Sales and Commercial teams for software development estimates in terms of labour and costs. Imperatively, you will ensure that quality is an integral part of the implementation of all aspects of the project by managing testing activities to assure the quality of all project deliverables including hardware, software and documentation and liaise with technical departments on enhanced technical design, specification and architecture. ESSENTIAL SKILLS �Strong skills in C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio and MFC. �Experience of database design primarily using Microsoft SQL Server. �Must have a solid software lifecycle background including knowledge of software design methodologies. �Good understanding of MS Windows platforms. OTHER REQUIREMENTS �Experience in any of the following would be an advantage: Microsoft .Net Web based technologies PKI LAN/WAN communications �Must be able to deploy overseas for protracted periods of time. �Experience of installing and configuration of Microsoft operating systems and databases. �Knowledge of other database platforms instead of/or addition to SQL Server such as Oracle would be an advantage �Knowledge of network infrastructure architecture. �Languages would be an advantage.
