Urgent! My fast-paced client based on the outskirts of York are looking for a Support Engineer with a working knowledge of at least two of the following areas: Linux, Networking (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewalls etc), RDBMS/SQL (preferably Informix but not essential) or Windows 2003. Experience is desirable, though not essential, and applicants should have obtained a good degree in a relevant subject. Applicants must be strong team players, motivated, and have good problem solving and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day 1st / 2nd line support of the company's product suite in the Unix and Windows environment. The applicant must also be willing to visit our customers, which currently involves travel within the UK and occasionally Europe and the US. We are ideally looking for an IT graduate who has a year or two's experience in a similar environ to the one already mentioned.
The salary is completely negotiable & will depend on experience. You will be trained in any areas that your skills are lacking as well as being offered a solid progression plan. This role is URGENT - we have interview slots for this week & next.
